IPL 2021 Final, CSK vs. KKR: Chennai wins 4th IPL Title

Chennai Super Kings played against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2021 Final. MS Dhoni went up against KKR to win the IPL trophy for the fourth time for Chennai Super Kings in the summit clash of the 2021 championship.

Chennai Super Kings was a finalist with 9 wins from 14 matches and finishing second in the eight-team points ranking table before the final. The team defeated the former champion and its arch-enemy Mumbai Indians in Match 30 of the Dubai stage.

However, Kolkata Knight Riders also showed incredible progress through the tournament’s second round losing only 2 of 9 games after IPL 2021 suspension earlier this year due to Covid-19. KKR took fourth place in the points table and let Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals last positions in the leaderboard.

KKR was in a prospective chase for 193 scores but made only 165 for 9 in their 20 overs during the final. Although, Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gill managed to bring only 50 and 51 scores to Kolkata Knight Rider.

Chennai Super Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs and gained IPL 2021 champion trophy for the fourth time in this season’s final in Dubai. KKR slumped to 125 for 8 in the 17th, with 91 for no loss in the 11th.  As a result, the Riders suffered a dismal defeat in the finals. Shardul Thakur took three wickets while Ravindra Jadeja and Josh Hazlewood got two each for CSK and decisively ensured their team’s victory.
